Post Level 3 (R164 251.13 –R 168 382.06) plus R60 000.00 p.a

Key Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree or B Tech degree in Town and Regional Planning or Development Planning Degree in a recognized
Tertiary Institution
- A Post Graduate Degree in the above will be an added advantage
- An applied knowledge of GIS will be an advantage
- 3 Years experience in development planning
- Good communication in both Isizulu and English
- A valid code B driver's license is mandatory
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be reporting to the IDP Manager, and will be responsible for:
- Provision of support to the Manager: Planning and Development in the execution of development planning responsibilities
- Provision of support in preparation of Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of the municipality
- Assisting management with Development Planning projects (townships establishment, feasibility studies etc)
- Preparation and review of the Spatial Development Framework of the municipality
- Driving the implementation of the Land Use Management System
- Promotion of development planning initiatives in the municipality
- Driving the implementation of Municipal Property rates Act in the municipality
- Provision of professional technical advice on land development and land use applications
- Provision of guidance and support for IDP implementation through alignment of the municipality policies with the district, provincial and national policies
- Undertaking site inspection in order to provide development planning advise to various projects
- Management of developmental information using Geographic Information System (GIS)
- Supporting the preparation of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of the Municipality
- Managing municipality's input into Permission to Occupy (PTO's) applications
- Attending workshops, seminars, port folio committee meetings on behalf of the municipality
Key Attributes
- In depth understanding of development planning, its theoretical framework and it principles
- Have sound understanding of Government policies and Government development agenda
- Excellent interpersonal skills and sound report writing
- Good project management skills
